To explore my interests in design for food and drink and cultural heritage, I started a project about how our grandparents hand our cultural heritage down to us through food. I’ve personally experienced this and learned to connect to my Spanish heritage through dishes my grandmother taught me to cook, so I wanted to learn about similar experiences others have had and collate them to produce a content-rich book or zine. Interviews with people with different cultural backgrounds about a specific dish that their grandparent from a different country and how it has helped them feel connected to their cultural heritage are complemented by bold and bright digital illustrations of the dish.
The project will be finished in the format of a high quality thick paper digitally printed A5 booklet. A sans serif title font is used with a serif body text laid out in columns to create the feel of a luxury magazine.
